Kumele is a place for anyone that has a hobby or passion. Hobbies are essential to having a well-rounded life, making life more meaningful and fun. Meeting other hobby enthusiasts in person can be hard and it can seem like hobbyists do not exist (or they’re not out there). The net result: many of us have no way to properly unwind after work which can lead to depression, sickness or worse.
Some people may find hobbies that take too much time or money and end up putting their careers or hobbies on the back burner. Either way, it’s not surprising then to see how many people lose their sense of fulfilment when they make these compromises.
Kumele works like Tinder, create a profile with your hobby interests and you get matches from hobbyist around you as a “guest” to the hobby event or activity alternatively you could be a “host” and create hobby events or activities and then get matches from local hobby enthusiast that match your hobby. We do not have a “traditional hobby group” but you can follow users in your hobby niche to get quick notifications about their hobby events. We have loads of features but below are some features worth mentioning.
Rewards
We offer GOLD, SILVER & BRONZE medals to users based on their hobby event or activity attendance or hobby event or activity creations.
These medals can be found on the user's profile and allows the user to qualify for discounts in our merch (in the works) & in-app purchase store.
Passive Income
Our users can make extra money in two ways:
1. Product or service advertising: Promote your products or services as an individual or a business through our advert platform to specific hobby niches.
For example, local snowboard and ski companies can target the snowboard/ski hobbyists
2. Paid Hobby events/activities: Users can create paid hobby events or activities as an event host for your guest.
For example,a hobby DJ can create both free and paid house parties for a small or large group. A cannabis connoisseur could create a paid "Cannabis-infused dinner" in areas where cannabis is legal of course etc.
Quick Refunds
Many of us have experienced or heard about event cancellations due to covid. In all fairness, some of the reasons are honest while a few are fraudulent.
On kumele, all paid events go through Paypal. Currently, this is the best option we could integrate into our system to guarantee your funds but in the future, we intend to use blockchain smart contracts technology to reduce fraud and automat refunds.
What to expect
We do not track our users outside the application. User behaviour is tracked only within the application for a better user experience.
On kumele users profiles are not public nor searchable that said hobby events or activities can be shared outside the application and users can follow other users to get notifications when such a user creates their next hobby activity or event.
